Masterpiece 2016: London LONDON | June 29 - July 6, 2016

Bringing together 150 of the world’s top galleries and specialists, Masterpieces London is one of the world’s leading international art fairs, presenting an exceptional week of cultural and social experiences in the heart of London.

Held in 2016, the seventh edition of the event saw the first-time participation from India through DAG. The gallery exhibited a delectable range of modern Indian master artists such as Hemen Majumdar, Rabindranath Tagore, F. N. Souza, G. R. Santosh and Avinash Chandra. Works on display included the expressionism art in paint and metal sculpturing by Rabindranath Tagore and S. K. Bakre respectively, the eroticism in Avinash Chandra or Hemen Majumdar, and even the tantric meditations of S. H. Raza and G. R. Santosh. The museum-quality show was executed along with an event-specific publication.

A first in an association that continued in the following year, DAG introduced regular British citizens to the creative geniuses of these stalwart 20th century Indian artists.
